Jurassic World: Rebirth is set to hit theaters in just six months, and the excitement is starting to build. The exciting relaunch of the Jurassic Park franchise is on its way this July and promises to take the franchise in a new direction. Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, the film aims to return to the franchise’s roots. Starring Scarlett Johansson, it has all the makings of a new classic, and we are 100% here for it.
Apart from a handful of images and a deliberately ambiguous synopsis, details about the film’s plot remain scarce. However, as 2025 unfolds, Universal Pictures is ramping up our anticipation with a fresh image from the movie. This new shot features Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett and Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, who are seen exploring a nest of dinosaur eggs inside an ancient temple! Could this be a subtle nod to the iconic Indiana Jones series by Steven Spielberg? Check it out below.
LIFE FINDS A WAY
In the film, Bennett is an expert in covert operations who leads a team assigned to capture DNA from the last surviving giant dinosaur species. According to the official synopsis, the ancient creatures are key to preserving humanity. So naturally, who better than Scarlett Johansson to save the day? Joining her on her quest, Mahershala Ali stars as Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s partner, while Jonathan Bailey joins the main cast as Dr. Henry Loomis. Director Gareth Edwards recently opened up about the film to Empire Magazine, and it was incredibly insightful.
“It goes back to what I loved about the original,” Edwards told Empire. “With an embarrassment of riches of different set-piece-type scenarios and tense, fun action moments. There were a lot of opportunities as a filmmaker to have a lot of fun and try and play games with the audience.” Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, it continues the dinos-in-the-wild premise established across that trilogy, while beginning “a whole new chapter in the timeline of Jurassic”.
SYNOPSIS
Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

While Edwards didn’t spill the beans on which dinosaurs will be in the film, he did share that “there are certain dinosaurs it would be a crime against cinema not to include.” This means fans can get ready to reunite with some of their all-time favorite dino pals along the way! The Jurassic franchise has treated us to so many unforgettable moments over the years. From the sounds of it, JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH is shaping up to be another fantastic addition! It’s great to see David Koepp back in charge, guiding the film along its exciting journey. Plus, with Gareth Edwards directing, I have a feeling it’ll be one of the year’s biggest hits.
