The first trailer for Dan Trachtenberg’s PREDATOR: BADLANDS is out, and it takes us into a brutal world of hurt.
A few weeks back, we shared a rundown of the first trailer for Dan Trachtenberg’s PREDATOR: BADLANDS that was shown at CinemaCon. Unfortunately, the trailer was only available for those lucky enough to be there. However, fans of the franchise can now celebrate, as 20th Century Studios has released the trailer online! This thrifty one-minute teaser is packed with classic Predator iconography, featuring hunters preying on each other, a young hunter being stalked on an alien planet, monstrous creatures, and even a Weyland-Yutani android from the Alien series.

That’s right—the first hints of a crossover between the Alien and Predator universes have emerged. If that isn’t exciting enough to get you ready for the hunt, the Predator’s trophy room includes the skulls of a Tyrannosaurus Rex and an alien from the Independence Day franchise. But before we dig into the footage any further, hit play on the teaser below and enjoy the hunt!
ALIEN VS PREDATOR
Rumors have long circulated that director Dan Trachtenberg is collaborating with Fede Alvarez, the director of Alien Romulus, to create a shared universe for the Alien and Predator franchises. Their collaboration would connect the narratives of their films, building toward a confrontation between the Aliens and Predators. This would establish an official Alien vs. Predator universe for the big screen. The teaser has officially confirmed this, with Elle Fanning’s synthetic android showing off the Weyland-Yutani logo on her eyes. But if you’re still craving a Predator fix, the studio has also shared the first poster for the film, and you can check that out below. Enjoy!

PREDATOR BECOMES PREY
Trachtenberg’s premise is a daring one. The franchise is filled with larger-than-life heroes who have faced off against the alien hunter and emerged victorious. Arnold Schwarzenegger showcased his strength in the original film. Danny Glover relied on his street smarts to outwit the City Hunter, and Adrien Brody triumphed over three evolved hunters in Robert Rodriguez’s outstanding third installment. In his previous film, Trachtenberg had the alien hunter go up against a fierce Comanche warrior, and we all know how that played out. So, it’s a pretty bold, creative move to shift the spotlight and make the hunter the protagonist this time around. But it’s an enticing prospect, let me tell you.

RELEASE
The film looks like it’s going to be another hit based on this first teaser, and we’re totally on board with it! Just minutes after the trailer dropped, the director jumped on social media to hint that this teaser is just the tip of the iceberg for what he has planned. Plus, it’s great to see Trachtenberg finally getting the spotlight he deserves with a full theatrical release. Fans can look forward to seeing the Predator back on the big screen where it belongs. And with the film shot in IMAX, PREDATOR: BADLANDS is set to be a standout entry in the franchise. So assemble your team, brush up on your hunting skills, and get ready to face off against the alien hunter again. If it bleeds, we can kill it!
