Look out, MCU, because Riri Williams is out to claim the mantle of the new armored avenger. Today, Marvel Studios has shared the first trailer for Ironheart. The upcoming series is emerging from that MCU on June 24th with a spectacular three-episode premiere, and promises to bring the armor back to the Avengers. With Ryan Coogler overseeing the project as an executive producer and an all-star cast, the series has all the hallmarks of an instant classic. But can Riri Williams truly stake a claim to becoming the new armored avenger? Let’s take a look.
SYNOPSIS
Set after the events of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Marvel Television’s “Ironheart” pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with0 the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos). The series also stars Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam and Anji White. Chinaka Hodge is head writer; episodes are directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes. Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler

At long last, Marvel fans can look forward to welcoming The Hood into the MCU fraternity. His debut has been a long time coming, but the MCU will finally fear his arrival. With its talent behind the camera and an excellent ensemble cast including Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White, the series has all the hallmarks of an instant classic. It will be fascinating to see how Anthony Ramos brings The Hood to life, and with Dominique Thorne suiting up in a Wakandan-inspired suit of armor, the sky is the limit for this show, and we are here for it 100%.
