Look out, Fortnite players, because Jar Jar Binks, General Grievous, and a customisable Mandalorian Warrior are landing in the Fortnite x Star Wars update.
The Fortnite x Star Wars Galactic Battle Season is off to a flying start. We’ve enjoyed new POIs for Tatooine, Starkiller Base, the Rebel base, Darth Vader’s Samurai castle, and new Battle Pass skins for Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma, Emperor Palpatine, and General Grievous. But in today’s update, we are being treated to the next phase of Star Wars skins.
Last weekend marked the arrival of Samuel L. Jackson’s Mace Windu in the item shop. The legendary Jedi Master came with impressive cosmetics and a striking resemblance to the actor. However, Mace Windu is just the beginning, as many new characters were teased during the Star Wars Celebration‘s big reveal. Darth Jar Jar and a fully customizable Mandalorian Warrior were confirmed, and today’s update has revealed that General Grievous will receive an all-new skin. Jar Jar Binks is also getting a classic skin, and the Mandalorian Warrior has been fully unveiled.

NEW SKINS
General Grievous will join the map with his traditional look from Revenge of the Sith and The Clone Wars. However, his second variant, unlockable through the Battle Pass, is based on his appearance before he submitted himself for the enhancement procedure. The Kaleesh cyborg will be entering the fight as Warlord Grievous.
From what the data leakers can tell, Grievous will come with his customary Wheel Bike glider, a Soulless One Starfighter contrail, a Dual Staff Slam emote, a Cape back bling, a weapons wrap, and a Magnaguard Electrostaff pickaxe.

Jar Jar Binks will arrive in the Fortnite item shop soon as Darth Jar Jar. But thankfully, the Sith variant isn’t the only version of Jar Jar entering the fray. The lovable Gungan will be available in his traditional look from The Phantom Menace and separate from his Sith Lord skin.
Sadly, Jar Jar’s bundle is still under wraps, so watch this space for the full details.

The Mandalorian Warrior is perhaps the most sought-after character in the bunch, and it’s easy to see why. The character is fully customizable. From the armor to the color, and even the signet on the shoulder pad, the Mandalorian Warrior can be transformed into any variation of the character you like. So, those who missed out on Din Djarin in the Battle Pass can create a look-alike version of the character. Moreover, with the helmet having multiple options, fans can recreate their favorite warriors from Death Watch, including Pre-Vizsla and, to a lesser extent, Paz Vizsla from The Mandalorian. However, the character proportions aren’t a customisable option, so frustratingly, the scale won’t be accurate. However, that’s a minor detraction from what is otherwise a great-looking skin.

RELEASE
Sadly, Fortnite has revealed no release dates for these skins. However, General Grievous is part of the Battle Pass and will be available to unlock today. Players will be able to unlock his cosmetics through gameplay. A fourteen-level increase will unlock the classic Grievous skin, complete with his cosmetics. However, those of us desperate to unlock the Warlord variant will need to increase by twenty-eight levels to unlock him. So get ready to hammer the game all weekend!
As for The Mandalorian Warrior, the Mandalorian Uprising chapter of the Fortnite x Star Wars season is scheduled to launch on May 22, so players should expect the Mandalorian Warrior to arrive in the item shop around May 23.

But what secret skins could Epic Games be working on, I hear you ask? Rumor has it that C-3PO and the classic Imperial TIE Fighter pilot could be getting skin. But the upcoming Mandalorian Uprising chapter of the season could herald the arrival of Jango Fett, Bo-Katan Kryze, Sabine Wren, Paz Viszla, and the Armorer. Except for Jango, every character has already received a vehicle decal wrap. This suggests their arrival could be imminent, and with the chapter already promising to allow players to take a Mandalorian warrior into battle with them, let’s hope this is the way!
So, whether you’re a Grievous fan or a Gungan sympathizer, something is coming for every Star Wars fan. Download the update and get playing to unlock the General and unleash the Kaleesh on the map!
Happy battling!
