David Corenswet’s Superman has arrived in the latest Fortnite Battle Pass, and players can unlock him early! Here’s how.
Look up, Fortnite players, because the Man of Steel is flying in from Metropolis and taking his rightful place at the top of every DC fan’s wishlist. With the brand new Fortnite Super season now underway, the full Battle Pass has been revealed. The pass features a string of Fortnite-generated superheroes. But taking pride of place among them is Batman’s legendary sidekick, Robin. You heard right, Tim Drake is swooping in from Gotham City to add some DC awesomeness to the battle pass. But the fun doesn’t end there, because rising above the rest is James Gunn’s new Superman!
That’s right, David Corenswet’s new Man of Steel is swooping into Fortnite soon, and the skin looks sensational. The latest Superman suit looks slightly warmer than it does in the trailer and TV spots to date, but that won’t dampen any DC fan’s excitement one bit. Sadly, the character has been revealed as this season’s secret skin and won’t be unlockable until July 11th. However, in a Fortnite first, Epic Games is allowing players to unlock the character one month early by parting with some precious V-Bucks.
UNLOCKING MAN OF STEEL EARLY!
But how do you unlock Superman early, I hear you ask! Simple, any player purchasing the Battle Pass can head to the item shop and scroll to the Battle Pass page. Once there, they will find the 25 Battle Pass Rewards + unlock Superman early tab. Players can then purchase Superman for 1,800 V-Bucks, which will give them Superman, his cape Back Bling, and 25 Rewards to claim in the Battle Pass. Sadly, the rest of Superman’s cosmetics will remain locked until July 11th. But that’s a minor detraction from what is a gift from James Gunn and Epic Games.
1,800 V-Bucks might seem a tad excessive, especially after already forking out for the Battle Pass itself. But this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get your hands on the new Superman one month before everyone else, so the price tag is justifiable.
KRYPTO
If that isn’t enough to have you dusting off your superhero cape, Superman’s beloved pet, Kryto, is already available in-game as a mythic weapon. Players picking up Kryto’s bone treat can use it to deploy the super pooch who descends from the heavens above, resulting in a ground slam. Any enemy in range will take a whopping hit, leaving you to add the final blow. This adds a fun new element to the game. What’s more, sidekicks like Krypto have been rumored to be available as usable companions in the game sometime throughout the season, so players can look forward to swooping into action as Superman with Krypto by his side.
But what else does Epic Games have up its sleeve? James Gunn recently sat down with the Fortnite team to discuss which characters should make the transition to the map, so there’s plenty of room for Lex Luthor, Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, and more to swoop into the shop. Let’s hope for some SUPER additions to the DC roster soon.
