A new trailer for Dan Trachtenberg’s PREDATOR: BADLANDS is out, and it takes us into a brutal world of hurt. Let the hunt begin…
Predator fans are eating well right now. Just weeks after we immersed ourselves in Dan Trachtenberg’s impressive Predator: Killer of Killers, the studio has released a fresh new trailer for his next adventure: Predator Badlands. The futuristic flick is emerging from the hunting grounds this November, but aside from some tantalizing trailers and glorious posters, we still know very little about the movie. But thankfully, that is all about to change.
Today, the studio released an all-new trailer for the film, offering our best look yet at the adventure that awaits us. The movie follows a juvenile Predator named Dek, who has been banished from its clan and is forced to fend for itself. Along the way, it meets Elle Fanning, a synthetic droid from the Weyland-Yutani corporation, yes, that one! And together, the duo tries to survive against overwhelming odds.

That’s right—the first hints of a crossover between the Alien and Predator universes have emerged. If that isn’t exciting enough to get you ready for the hunt, the Predator’s trophy room includes the skulls of a Tyrannosaurus Rex and an alien from the Independence Day franchise. Once again, Trachtenberg has delivered a treasure trove of Predator iconography. Dek has a lethal arsenal of new weaponry to utilize in its hunt, and there are legions of new monsters for him to fight. That combined with the links to the Alien franchise and Badlands looks set to be an instant classic. But before we dig into the footage any further, hit play on the teaser below and enjoy the hunt!
ALIEN VS PREDATOR
Rumors have long circulated that director Dan Trachtenberg is collaborating with Fede Alvarez, the director of Alien Romulus, to create a shared universe for the Alien and Predator franchises. Their collaboration would connect the narratives of their films, building toward a confrontation between the Aliens and Predators. This would establish an official Alien vs. Predator universe for the big screen. The new trailer has officially confirmed this, with Elle Fanning’s synthetic android showing off the Weyland-Yutani logo on her eyes. But if you’re still craving a Predator fix, the studio has also shared a brand new poster for the film, and you can check that out below. Enjoy!

PREDATOR BECOMES PREY
Trachtenberg’s premise is a daring one. The franchise is filled with larger-than-life heroes who have faced off against the alien hunter and emerged victorious. Arnold Schwarzenegger showcased his strength in the original film. Danny Glover relied on his street smarts to outwit the City Hunter, and Adrien Brody triumphed over three evolved hunters in Robert Rodriguez’s outstanding third installment. In his previous film, Trachtenberg had the alien hunter go up against a fierce Comanche warrior, and we all know how that played out. So, it’s a pretty bold, creative move to shift the spotlight and make the hunter the protagonist this time around. But it’s an enticing prospect, let me tell you.

RELEASE
The film appears to be another hit based on this first teaser, and we’re totally on board with it! Moreover, unlike its predecessor, the film is receiving a full theatrical release. So, fans can look forward to seeing the Predator back on the big screen where it belongs. With the film shot in IMAX, PREDATOR: BADLANDS is poised to be a standout entry in the franchise. So assemble your team, brush up on your hunting skills, and get ready to face off against the alien hunter again. If it bleeds, we can kill it!
