In 2000, Steven Soderbergh directed the release of his adaptation of the classic Channel 4 drama, Traffik. His version, named Traffic, would go on to become a modern classic of its own. The ensemble cast, including Michael Douglas, Don Cheadle, and Dennis Quaid. Catherine Zeta-Jones and an Oscar-winning performance from Benicio Del Toro made the film take its place among Hollywood’s best. Including Del Toro’s award, the film also took Best Director for Steven Soderbergh. Best Adapted Screenplay for Stephen Gaghan and Best Film Editing for Stephen Mirrione at the Academy Awards.
Now, Steven Soderbergh’s classic returns to UK Blu-ray and DVD from Dazzler Media, as it celebrates 25 years. It will become available to own from 8th September. A Mexican policeman (Benicio Del Toro) finds himself and his partner caught in an often deadly web of corruption. A pair of DEA agents (Don Cheadle and Luis Guzmán) work undercover in a sordid and dangerous part of San Diego. When a wealthy drug lord in upscale suburban America gets arrested, he is shocked to find that his pampered wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) swiftly seizes control of his business.. And the U.S. President’s new drug czar (Michael Douglas) must deal with his increasingly drug-addicted teenage daughter.
