Netflix has released the first trailer for The Thursday Murder Club. The upcoming murder mystery is heading our way on August 28th, and to make sure we are all suitably excited for this bold new whodunnit, the streamer has detected a clue-packed new trailer. The film, which is based on Richard Osman’s international best-selling novel, has assembled a fantastic ensemble cast to bring the mystery to life. Led by Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie, the film follows four irrepressible retirees – Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), Ron (Pierce Brosnan), Ibrahim (Ben Kingsley), and Joyce (Celia Imrie) – who spend their time solving cold case murders for fun.
However, when an unexplained death occurs on their doorstep, their casual sleuthing takes a thrilling turn as they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands. What a fantastic new trailer, and what an impressive cast! Chris Columbus has gathered a remarkable ensemble to bring this film to life, and the results look promising. The chemistry between the characters seems incredibly engaging. Plus, it is wonderful to see Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren collaborating again after working together on Paramount+’s MobLand. If the film can capture the atmosphere of Richard Osman’s bestselling novel, we may be in for an extraordinary murder mystery, which is an exciting prospect. But who is the killer? Is it an obvious choice, or someone they would least suspect?
