Star Trek: Scouts is a brand-new animated series for preschoolers, and the first two episodes are now available!
It’s time for preschoolers to boldly go into the final frontier. To celebrate the major announcement of Star Trek‘s 60th anniversary, Paramount and Nickelodeon have unveiled a brand-new animated series titled Star Trek: Scouts. The 20-episode series follows the adventures of JR, Roo, and Sprocket as they train to become future Starfleet Explorers by going on epic, out-of-this-world missions. The eight-year-olds will encounter strange new worlds, discover, grow, and boldly go!
The series marks Paramount’s first attempt to aim a Star Trek show at the youngest generation. This series comprises twenty animated shorts, each with a running time of 3-4 minutes. But what can we expect from the bold new chapter in Trek history? Thankfully, Paramount has shared the first trailer for the series via subspace. So, open hailing frequencies and put it on screen!
THE SERIES
Star Trek: Scouts follows three 8-year-old friends, JR, Sprocket and Roo, as they train to become future Starfleet Explorers by going on epic, out-of-this-world missions that push them to “discover, grow and boldly go!”
Oh, no! A giant soap bar asteroid is zooming through space toward the Star Trek Scouts! JR, Roo, and Sprocket have just four minutes before it makes impact. They’ll need to think fast, work together, and use their science and engineering brains to stop the soap bar asteroid. Can you help them pick the right item to launch and save the day from a soapy disaster in outer space? Join them in a fun bubble bath party with their pet sidekicks, too!
Meet the Star Trek Scouts! JR, Roo, and Sprocket are three best friends training to become future Starfleet explorers! Join their adventures as they blast asteroids, rescue cosmic critters, and work together to save the day in outer space with their intergalactic pet sidekicks, Zips, Bubbles, and Star!

This series looks exceptional, and we cannot wait to dive straight in. Thankfully, Paramount and Nickelodeon have us covered. To celebrate yesterday’s announcement, Nickelodeon’s Blaze and the Monster Machines YouTube channel dropped the first TWO EPISODES for us to enjoy. So, grab your Tricorders and watch them below.

By now, it should be abundantly clear that we quickly fell in love with this series. And rightly so. The show is tons of fun to watch and oozes everything a Star Trek show should. Adventure, phasers, creatures, aliens, hidden dangers, and more. And that, coupled with a wholesome family message, delivers a series parents can be proud to share with their young cadets.
So, get your young cadets ready for the first semester at Starfleet Academy, and check out Star Trek: Scouts. The series will continue its rollout on the Blaze and the Monster Machines YouTube channel into 2026. Enjoy!
