Noah Hawley has signed a lucrative new deal with FX and Disney Entertainment to develop a second season of ALIEN EARTH!
Are you ready for another season of Alien Earth? A little over a month after its stunning season finale, Noah Hawley’s bold Alien series has been renewed for a second season. The first season ended on a chilling cliffhanger, leaving fans on the edge of their seats, eagerly waiting to see what happens next. But now, with the ink still fresh on a lucrative new nine-figure deal between FX/Disney and Hawley, Alien Earth Season 2 is now confirmed to be on the assembly line.
Shooting on the second season will get underway in London in 2026, pivoting from season one’s Thailand set.

NEW DEALS
Although details about Hawley’s new deal are scarce, we understand the deal is a new overall developmental deal with FX and Disney Entertainment Television. Sources close to the deal estimate it to be valued in the nine-figure range.
“It has been our great privilege to work with Noah for more than a decade on some of FX’s best and biggest shows, and we are thrilled to extend our partnership well into the future,” said John Landgraf, chairman of FX. “Noah never stops surprising us with truly original stories— and his unique ability to bring them to vibrant life as a director and producer as well as writer makes him extraordinary. We can’t wait to get to work on the next season of ‘Alien: Earth,’ as well as some equally exciting future projects in advanced development.”
NOAH HAWLEY
This is exceptional news, and Noah Hawley could not be more thrilled with the new deal.
“I’m thrilled that this expanded deal opens the door to new opportunities across all of Disney Entertainment Television,” said Hawley. “FX has always supported bold, character-driven storytelling. From the very beginning with Fargo, they’ve encouraged me to take creative risks and follow the story wherever it leads. I’m grateful to continue exploring the world of ‘Alien: Earth’ alongside our partners, cast, and crew as we begin the next chapter.”
“I learned first-hand that Noah was a unique talent while we worked on ‘Fargo’ at FX,” said Eric Schrier, president of Disney Television Studios & Global Original Television Strategy. “He has gone on to make many of the best shows in television, and I couldn’t be more excited that Noah will continue his FX partnership and broaden it across Disney Entertainment Television.”

REVIEW
We had a blast at the European Premiere of the series. In our glowing review of the season premiere, our reviewer, Carl Roberts, said, “Franchise fans need not fret. The series fits in brilliantly with the movie franchise. All the elements are there, things we are used to seeing and expect to see are here. There are also elements that are a complete surprise. The franchise has been significantly expanded. From this opening episode, the sandbox is open to more intriguing elements and world-building being added moving forward. There are more, different Xenomorphs seen here, opening the possibility that these new Aliens could become a staple of the franchise. Instead of sticking to what’s been done before, creator Noah Hawley has pushed the envelope. Expanding the lore and giving the franchise a shot in the arm of new, fresh blood.” Read his full review here.

RELEASE
Unfortunately, neither FX/Disney nor Noah Hawley has confirmed a release date for Alien Earth Season 2. However, with filming set to begin in the UK next year, a tentative release in 2027 is anticipated. Either way, Alien fans can look forward to reuniting with Wendy as her new chapter with the Xenomorphs begins. In the meantime, the new Xenomorph has recently been introduced into Fortnite. So head to the map and make your opponents flee in terror!
