One week before the new trailer, Sony Pictures shared a new poster for Nia DaCosta’s 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.
Sony Pictures has shared an atmospheric new poster for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. Nia DaCosta’s addition to Danny Boyle’s beloved zombie franchise is emerging from quarantine on January 14th, and the new trailer is looming on the horizon. But to get us all in the mood for more zombie horror, the studio has shared a glorious new one-sheet that highlights the characters that will carry this new chapter forward.
The film follows Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) as he finds himself in a shocking new relationship – with consequences that could change the world as we know it. Given the storyline, it’s no surprise that Kelson features heavily on the latest poster, and joining him are Jack O’Connell’s Sir Jimmy Crystal and Alfie Williams’ Spike. Take a look below.

SYNOPSIS
Expanding upon the world created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland in 28 Years Later – but turning that world on its head – Nia DaCosta directs 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship – with consequences that could change the world as they know it – and Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) becomes a nightmare he can’t escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival – the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.

CAST & CREW
Nia DaCosta has put together a sensational cast for this new adventure. In addition to brilliant Ralph Fiennes, the film stars Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman, and Chi Lewis-Parry. But if that isn’t enough, the film promises to reunite fans with Cillian Murphy’s Jim, who began the adventure back in 2002.
Once again, the film has been written for the screen by Alex Garland and has been directed by Nia DaCosta. Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, Bernard Bellew, Danny Boyle, and Alex Garland serve as producers, with Cillian Murphy as an executive producer.
REVIEW
The film is the follow-up to the hugely successful 28 Years Later, which arrived in cinemas last summer. We had a blast with the film when it hit our screens. In our review, our critic, Carl Roberts, said, “With its focus on love, fear, isolation, desperation, and loss, 28 Years Later hits the mark. Its blend of social commentary, horror, and emotion may not fit everyone’s tastes. In that respect, their points are valid. The film can never please everyone. No film can. For the majority, however, the film has kick-started a new horror/survival-horror trilogy. If you pardon the pun, it has injected fresh new blood into the franchise, one it may not have needed but benefits from nonetheless. Entertaining, nasty, good storytelling, it’s a decent night’s entertainment.” Read our full review here.

RELEASE
What a phenomenal new poster. Nia DaCosta is an incredible filmmaker, and the idea of her joining the 28 Years Later saga is a tantalizing prospect, let me tell you. With Hildur Guðnadóttir providing the soundtrack, Ralph Fiennes expanding on Dr Ian Kelson’s storyline, and the potential return of Cillian Murphy, the film has all the hallmarks of an instant classic. But can the film live up to the standard set by Danny Boyle? All will be revealed in the new year. Fear is the new faith!
