Watch Chris Hemsworth make a triumphant return as Thor in the latest official teaser for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday.
Just days after dropping the first Steve Rogers-themed trailer, Marvel has dropped the second character teaser for Avengers: Doomsday. Although the teaser is now playing before select screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash, the studio has finally released it online, and it reunites us with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor. In the teaser, we see Thor praying to his father, Odin, pleading for the strength to endure one more fight before returning to his adopted daughter. This smacks with all the emotional heft one might expect from one of Thor’s final adventures, and given the actor is soon to hang up his Hammer, this could be his last hurrah! But don’t just take my word for it. Assemble your team and hit play on the teaser below.
CAST & CREW
The Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men have assembled for Avengers: Doomsday. The impressive lineup includes a mix of fan-favorite characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, some actors from the original X-Men movies, and fresh faces from Fantastic Four: First Steps. However, the film has some notable absences. Tom Holland will not appear as Spider-Man, Don Cheadle will not return as War Machine, and there will be no mention of Deadpool and Wolverine.
However, the confirmed cast is brimming with Marvel legends. The cast announced included Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Danny Ramirez (The Falcon), and Winston Duke (M’Baku). Stars from the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie are also joining the party with Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), and Lewis Pullman listed.

THE X FACTOR
One of the most exciting additions to the cast is the original X-Men stars. The announcement confirmed that Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) from the original X-Men are all returning. They will be joined by Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler) from X2: X-Men United and Kelsey Grammer (Beast), who appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand. In an exciting twist, Channing Tatum will reprise his role as Gambit from Deadpool and Wolverine, rounding out this impressive lineup.
FANTASTIC FOUR
If the X-Men aren’t enough to convince you to book your tickets, members of the Fantastic Four are also joining the fight against Doctor Doom. This includes Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch. Additionally, Tenoch Huerta MejÃa, who portrayed Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is set to feature in some capacity.

OFFICIAL POSTER
If the first teaser isn’t enough to have you dusting off your Thor cosplay, the studio also dropped a new poster for the film. The glorious one-sheet continues the tradition of the iconic Avengers A logo, but this time, the letter is overcome by the mechanical manipulation of Doctor Doom! Take a look below.

RELEASE
What a powerhouse of a teaser. For me, the MCU hasn’t been the same since Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth last shared the screen. But with Downey Jr returning as Doctor Doom, and Hemsworth suiting up one last time, Steve Rogers just had to return to lead the Avengers once more – and that is an exciting prospect. The Avengers movies are always landmark events, and with Captain America and Thor’s return now confirmed, Avengers: Doomsday has gone from exhilarating to unmissable.
Avengers Doomsday is coming. December 18, 2026.
