THE PREMISE

Upon discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house, trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray. As outside forces uncover the extent of the seizure, they begin to question everything, including whom they can trust.

THE NEW POSTER

MATT DAMON

“In Miami, you have to count the money on-site, so that everybody knows how much is there. They know that it’s almost certainly cartel money that belongs to very dangerous people who are probably going to come get it. They’re on the clock, and they have to start thinking of defending where they are because they can’t just leave.” – Matt Damon

BEN AFFLECK

“It begs the question: What do you do when faced with this massive temptation? What does that mean? What’s it like to see that up close? And then also, who do you trust?”– Ben Affleck

THE RIP. (L to R) Ben Affleck as Det Sergeant JD Byrne and Matt Damon as Lieutenant Dane Dumars in The Rip. Cr. Claire Folger/Netflix © 2025.

The film looks to be an exciting, taut, and highly emotional action thriller that showcases the dynamic between the two lead actors. It also raises moral questions that the audience must answer for themselves as the story unfolds. With the supporting cast also looking like they are vital parts of the film’s machine, we could be in for an early movie treat, the perfect way to start 2026.

Trust will have a price when The Rip premieres globally on Netflix on January 16th.
