THE UK TOP TEN

For our first chart of 2026, we see most of the Christmas movies have now departed. In their place, we have some 2025 favourites and one new entry making up the placings. So, what is the first number one title of 2026? Grab your broomsticks as we find out.

(1) WICKED FOR GOOD

Congratulations to Wicked – For Good, who have picked up the coveted Number 1 spot on this week’s Official Film Chart for the first time following its release. Continuing the story of Elphaba and Glinda, the film explores the lasting consequences of their choices as loyalties are tested and destinies sealed. With darker emotional stakes, expansive musical sequences and a more dramatic tone, it marks a bold and confident next chapter in the Oz saga.

(2) DRACULA

Just behind at Number 2, Dracula continues its steady climb. This atmospheric reimagining of Bram Stoker’s classic leans into gothic horror and psychological tension, presenting a haunting portrait of obsession, immortality and the price of eternal life.

(3) THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND

Returning to the chart at Number 3, The Ballad of Wallis Island offers a striking tonal shift. Set against a windswept island backdrop, old tensions resurface when former bandmates who were former lovers reunite for a private show at the island home of an eccentric millionaire.

(4) WICKED

Still commanding attention at Number 4, Wicked continues its remarkable run. The film explores the unlikely friendship between Elphaba and Glinda before they become legends, exploring prejudice, ambition and the cost of standing apart, all wrapped in lavish visuals and iconic songs that reframe the Land of Oz.

(5) JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH

Holding firm at Number 5, Jurassic World – Rebirth pushes the franchise’s core idea further than ever. As dinosaurs become fully integrated into the modern world, the story follows scientists, governments and civilians struggling to maintain balance, while new species and escalating threats turn coexistence into a global crisis.

(6) SINNERS

ONE DOWN, FIFTY-ONE WEEKS TO GO!

And that is this week’s top ten chart run-down. Next week, we could see Predator: Badlands make an appearance after its release on PVOD this week. Can the Predator take down Wicked: For Good, or will it hold firm at the top? You know what to do. So, until next time…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, make 2026 the best year ever, and happy viewing!
