By the Power of Grayskull. The first trailer for Masters Of The Universe delivers our first look at He-Man, Battlecat, Skeletor, and Castle Grayskull!

By the power of Grayskull! Amazon has released the first trailer for the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe movie, and as expected, it is packed with He-Man iconography. From Cringer, Prince Adam’s loyal green cat, to Man-At-Arms, every character is here and ready for action. What’s more, our first look at Nicholas Galitzine’s He-Man facing off against Jared Leto’s Skeletor makes the trailer even more exciting.

The cast of Masters of the Universe features an impressive array of talent. In addition to Galitzine and Leto, the film showcases the remarkable performances of Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms (also known as Duncan), and Alison Brie as Skeletor’s loyal second-in-command, Evil-Lyn. Morena Baccarin takes on the role of The Sorceress, while Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson portrays Malcolm, better known as Fisto. The lineup also includes Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops. Rounding out the cast, James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley portray He-Man’s parents, King Randor and Queen Marlena. FIRST POSTER

If the first trailer isn’t enough to have you packing your bags for a summer detour to Eternia, the studio has upped the ante by dropping the film’s official poster. The glorious one-sheet features He-Man reaching for his iconic sword as the ominous vision of Skeletor sitting on the throne of Grayskull lies before him. Take a look.

SYNOPSIS

In MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, Director Travis Knight brings the legendary franchise back to the big screen in this epic live-action adventure. After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.

RELEASE

The film was previously in the Netflix developmental machine with a succession of writers and directors attached to bring the project to life. But the streamer could never get the project off the ground. Now that the rights have fallen into Amazon MGM Studios’ lap, the film is finally back on track, with Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) set to direct from a script by Chris Butler, with initial drafts by David Callaham, Aaron & Adam Nee.

Masters of the Universe will receive a theatrical release on June 5, 2026.
