THE UK TOP TEN

This week sees one new entry and one re-entry into the chart, and we also have a brand-new number one. It has certainly taken its time getting to the top. But what could it be? What are the new and returning titles this week? Get ready to sink your teeth into the top ten.

(1) SINNERS

After spending an extraordinary 33 weeks on the Official Film Chart, Sinners completes its slow-burn climb by finally taking the Number 1 position. The dark thriller stars Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twin brothers attempting to leave their violent past behind. Returning home in search of a fresh start, they instead uncover a far more dangerous evil, forcing them into a reckoning with guilt, identity and the cost of redemption.

(2) 28 YEARS LATER

Close behind, 28 Years Later continues its powerful ascent, now sitting just off the top spot at Number 2. Set decades after the original outbreak, the film revisits a society permanently reshaped by infection, examining survival, legacy and the fragile rebuilding of humanity through bleak, visceral horror.

(3) WICKED: FOR GOOD

Having previously led the chart for three consecutive weeks, Wicked – For Good now finds itself at Number 3. The musical sequel pushes the story of Elphaba and Glinda into darker territory, as personal choices trigger political upheaval across Oz, supported by heightened emotional stakes and expansive musical set pieces.

(4) THE RUNNING MAN

Remaining firmly in contention, The Running Man occupies Number 4 this week. The dystopian thriller unfolds in a near-future world driven by televised spectacle, following a man forced into a deadly public contest where survival depends on strategy, endurance and defiance.

(5) PREDATOR: BADLANDS

Also holding strong in the upper half of the chart, Predator – Badlands sits at Number 5. Stripping the franchise back to its raw survival roots, the film places human prey in an unforgiving environment against the ultimate hunter, delivering relentless tension and brutal action.

(6) DRACULA

Mid-chart momentum keeps Dracula anchored at Number 6. This modern gothic reimagining leans into psychological horror and tragic romance, exploring obsession, immortality and isolation through atmospheric visuals and slow-building dread.

(7) ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER

Further down, One Battle After Another climbs to Number 7. The character-driven drama follows Bob (Leonardo DiCaprio), who is a washed-up revolutionary, living in a state of stoned paranoia, surviving off-grid with his spirited and self-reliant daughter, Willa.

(8) BLACK PHONE 2

Re-entering the upper ranks at Number 8, Black Phone 2 expands the unsettling world of its predecessor. The sequel follows 15-year-old Gwen as she receives calls from the black phone and sees disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp. Accompanied by her brother, Finn, they head to the camp to solve the mystery.

(9) BUGONIA

A brand-new arrival, Bugonia makes its chart debut at Number 9. Two conspiracy-obsessed men kidnap the CEO of a major company when they become convinced that she’s an alien who wants to destroy Earth. Blending sci-fi, dark humour and conspiracy thriller elements, the film explores paranoia, power and the increasingly blurred line between truth and delusion.

FINISHING OFF

And that is this week’s top ten. This week’s retail offerings, which may make a dent in the top ten next week, are Ella McCay and the simply superb Blue Moon. There is also a PVOD release in the form of Zootropolis 2. Can any of them trouble Sinners at the top of the chart? There’s only one way to find out. So, until next time…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!!
