The year has only just started, but the top entertainment keeps on coming. It has been announced that all episodes of the sharp, new Sky Exclusive comedy-drama, The Miniature Wife, will be available on Sky and streaming service NOW from 9 April in the UK & Ireland. The show stars Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen.
THE PREMISE
Marriage gets hilariously complicated in The Miniature Wife, when Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect, The Hunger Games) is unexpectedly shrunk in a technological mishap. This comes as a surprise to her husband, played by Matthew Macfadyen (Succession). Domestic life takes a turn for the perfectly mismatched pair. As a result, their day-to-day turns into a razor-sharp battle for power.
Based on the short story written by Manuel Gonzales, THE MINIATURE WIFE is a dramedy. It examines the power (im)balances between spouses. This occurs after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis.

Emmy-nominated Banks and BAFTA-winning Macfadyen lead a talented cast that includes Zoe Lister-Jones (Slip, Beau is Afraid), O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale, Presumed Innocent), Sian Clifford (Fleabag, The Ballad of Wallis Island), and Sofia Rosinsky (Paper Girls, Death and Other Details) as series regulars. In addition, the recurring roles feature Ronny Chieng (The Daily Show, Crazy Rich Asians), Aasif Mandvi (Evil, The Daily Show), Rong Fu (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Hello (Again)), and Tricia Black (Small Achievable Goals, Pretty Hard Cases).
BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE SERIES
Greg Mottola (Superbad, The Daytrippers) serves as a director (episodes 1, 2, 7, 8) and executive producer on the series. Additionally, Banks, Macfadyen, Michael Aguilar (I’m Dying Up Here, Kidding), and Suzanne Heathcote (The Crowded Room, Killing Eve) also serve as executive producers. Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer for Media Res (The Morning Show, Pachinko) join them as executive producers as well.
Media Res Studio produced The Miniature Wife, while Sony Pictures Television distributed it. Katie Keenan, the Group Director of Acquisitions for Sky UK and Europe, and Facundo Bailez, the Head of Acquisitions for Sky UK and Europe, negotiated the deal with Sony Pictures Television.
The Miniature Wife premieres on Sky and NOW on April 9th.
