Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kevin Michael Richardson reprise their roles as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie delivers a big game spot.
Letsa Go, again! After the box office success of the first movie, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, it was inevitable that a sequel would follow. Surprisingly, it took a bit of time to confirm. Nintendo said there would be more movies based on their properties. However, they did not directly confirm a Mario Bros. sequel. We all knew that there would be, however. Even star Chris Pratt said the sequel would be announced soon. But he added the caveat that the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike would affect production. Three years later, the brothers are back again for another round of animated comedic mayhem.
Hitting screens on April 1st, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will open in cinemas. Opening ahead of its stablemate, Illumination’s Minions 3 (opening July 1st), the film again features the voices of Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kevin Michael Richardson. Newcomers to the franchise this time around include Benny Safdie and Brie Larson. In the new film, our heroes go to outer space to do battle with Bowser’s Son, Bowser Jr. The big game spot for the film has cleaned out the pipes and is available below:
THE PREMISE
Mario and Luigi meet and quickly befriend Yoshi, as they join Princess Peach and Toad on an adventure into outer space and across the galaxy to face off against Bowser’s son, Bowser Jr.
WOW! What an enjoyable trailer. It goes to show that Illumination is still on top form. The film looks to be a highly entertaining, comedic, family-friendly one that will lay down a marker for movie summer box office. You can already see that kids will love and adore it, and adults will get a good chuckle out of it, too. Plus, fans of the franchise will have great fun spotting the easter eggs that will be hidden in plain sight.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will plumb for our box office cash when it opens on April 1st.
