Based on the novels from the celebrated Irish author Marian Keyes, all episodes of the drama, The Walsh Sisters, will be available on BBC iPlayer soon.
The BBC has confirmed that all episodes of The Walsh Sisters will be available on BBC iPlayer from 6 am on Saturday, 21 February. Moreover, BBC One will air the series weekly starting at 9:15 pm that night.
ABOUT THE SERIES
The highly anticipated drama series is inspired by novels from the celebrated Irish author and global bestseller, Marian Keyes. She also executive produces the series. The story is set in their Dublin hometown. The Walsh Sisters follows the lives of Anna (Louisa Harland – Derry Girls). It also follows Rachel (Caroline Menton – Oddity), Maggie (Stefanie Preissner – Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope), Claire (Danielle Galligan – House of Guinness) and Helen (Máiréad Tyers – My Lady Jane). Together, they navigate the peaks and troughs of their 20s and 30s. This is a sisterhood full of in-jokes, hand-me-down resentments and more than a few old wounds. However, their DNA, history and shared love of power ballads keep the Walsh sisters together. They stay together in the face of heartbreak, grief, addiction and parenthood.
THE TRAILER
WRITING
Stefanie Preissner, the Dublin-based screenwriter, author, and actor known for RTÉ’s comedy drama Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope, has adapted the novels and led the writing team on four episodes. In addition, the award-winning writer Kefi Chadwick (Rivals, Death in Paradise) completes the team with two episodes.
While we can’t say too much about the series, I can reveal that myself and our editor, Phil Roberts, recently attended a launch event for the series. During the event, we enjoyed a Q&A session with most of the cast as well as Marian Keyes herself. The insights we learned were enlightening and humorous. This gave us a better understanding of the series. We were also treated to a preview screening of the first two episodes of the series. Again, we are unable to reveal too much. However, we can say that the show is highly enjoyable, moving, funny, and is sure to be a ratings highlight and critical and audience success.

All episodes of The Walsh Sisters will be available on BBC iPlayer from 6 am on Saturday, 21 February, and BBC One will air the series weekly starting at 9:15 pm that night.
