Netflix has shared the unnerving first teaser for the upcoming series, Something Very Bad is Going to Happen. It will be streaming in March.
Everyone’s sorry in the first trailer for Netflix’s new series, Something Very Bad is Going to Happen. The upcoming supernatural horror series from the Duffer Brothers promises to be one of the jewels in the streamer’s early 2026 crown. Created by Haley Z. Boston, the show is an atmospheric horror series set at a wedding. It follows a bride and groom in the week leading up to their ill-fated nuptials.
Over eight gripping episodes, the series will follow Rachel (Camila Morrone) and her would-be groom as they travel to his family’s secluded vacation home in a snowy forest for the intimate wedding ceremony of their dreams. But like so many dreams, their visions soon turn into nightmares! But don’t take my word for it. Dust off your wedding hats and check out the trailer below.
SYNOPSIS
If Carrie is horror’s version of a girl becoming a woman, and Rosemary’s Baby is the horrific version of a woman becoming a mother, SOMETHING VERY BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN is horror’s take on a woman becoming a wife. Rachel (Camila Morrone) is getting married in five days. Together with her fiancé, Nicky (Adam DiMarco), she embarks on a road trip to his family’s vacation home, secluded in a snowy forest, for the intimate wedding ceremony of their dreams. Which really would be so lovely, except… prone to superstition and paranoia, Rachel can’t shake the relentless feeling that something bad is going to happen. Her foreboding doubts, coupled with a series of eerie coincidences and dreadful surprises, force her to ask the question: What makes two people soulmates? And worse — what could be scarier than lifelong commitment to the wrong person?

Directors Weronika Tofilska, Axelle Carolyn, and Lisa Brühlmann have put together a wonderful cast to bring this chilling horror series to the screen. In addition to Camila Morrone, the series stars Adam DiMarco, Jeff Wilbusch, Karla Crome, Gus Birney, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ted Levine, and Sawyer Fraser.
Haley Z. Boston is the series’s showrunner, alongside Hilary Leavitt, Matt Duffer, Ross Duffer from Upside Down Productions, with Andrea Sperling and Weronika Tofilska serving as Executive Producers.

What a chilling and foreboding first trailer. Weronika Tofilska’s previous work on Baby Reindeer has guaranteed that Something Very Bad is Going to Happen will quickly climb our spring wishlist. The series promises to be a stunning piece of modern horror. Its impressive production quality, haunting set design, and atmospheric sound design make it a definite hit. Whether it can match the quality of Baby Reindeer remains to be seen. But when you release the first trailer on Friday the 13th, you know Netflix has something special planned.
