Fortnite Save The World: The Game That Started It All Goes Free-To-Play

Look out, Fortnite players, because the classic Save the World game is going free-to-play from April 16.

It’s time to head back to where it all began. Before Fortnite Battle Royale, there was Fortnite Save The World, a PvE, action-building co-op campaign where no two games of building forts, crafting weapons, and holding back monster hordes were ever the same. Now, the mode that started it all is going free-to-play on April 16 16.

Epic Games has announced that the classic game mode will be free-to-play from April 16. What’s more, Save the World welcomes even more players to join the fight on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Cloud, and Nintendo Switch 2. But if you were hoping for something to make the game mode that little bit sweeter, players who pre-register will be treated to some juicy rewards.

PRE-REGISTRATION

Pre-registrants will earn in-game rewards – including a Save the World Hero – at launch, and current players will receive Superchargers, Vouchers, and Gold on April 16 as a thank you for the last nine years of world saving. Founders will continue earning V-Bucks through Daily Quests, Mission Alerts, Storm Shield Defense Missions, and existing Challenges.

CURRENT PLAYERS

Although Epic Games has paused new subscriber sign-ups, current players can still play ahead of launch. As a thank you for the last nine years of holding back the horde, current players will receive the following on April 16:

Thankfully, new players can get up to speed with all things Save The World with community expert and STW veteran Beast. Jump into action and get all the skills you’ll need to fight off the horde when the mode returns with a vengeance on April 16.
