The Sydney Sweeney and Leo Woodall-starring The Custom Of The Country has begun production. The film also has new cast additions announced.
STUDIOCANAL, LD Entertainment, Rabbit’s Foot Films, and Monumental Pictures have announced today that cameras are rolling on THE CUSTOM OF THE COUNTRY starring Sydney Sweeney and Leo Woodall.
Announced to be joining the cast are Josh Finan (WAITING FOR THE OUT, SAY NOTHING). Also joining are Louis Garrel (DOG 51, LITTLE WOMEN), Matthew Goode (THE IMITATION GAME, DOWNTON ABBEY), Rose Leslie (VIGIL, MISS AUSTEN), Martha Plimpton (TASK, MASS), and Irene Jacob (THE AFFAIR, INTRACABLES). Hugh Dancy (HANNIBAL, HYSTERIA), Ian Hart (MR BATES vs. THE POST OFFICE, THE LAST KINGDOM), James McArdle (MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS, PLAYING NICE), and Rosie Sheehy (PILLION, CHERNOBYL) will also appear. In addition, Louisa Harland (HAMNET, THE WALSH SISTERS), Ronkẹ Adékọluẹ́jọ́ (CHEVALIER, DREAMERS), Dominic West (THE WIRE, THE AFFAIR) & Miranda Richardson (THE YELLOW TIE, RAMS) are part of the cast.
THE CREW
Acclaimed British theatre and film director Josie Rourke (MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS) directs and adapts the script from Wharton’s classic novel. This novel is often dubbed her greatest work.

PREMISE
Sweeney plays Undine Spragg, a fiercely ambitious woman from the Midwest, who strives for the social heights of turn-of-the-century New York. However, armed with beauty, hustle and sheer force of will, Undine battles an entrenched elite. She fearlessly courts controversy until love and fortune align.
