Look out, Game of Thrones fans, because Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, and the Night King have breached the wall to land on the Fortnite map!
Get ready to defend the wall, Thrones fans, because the Fortnite x Game of Thrones collaboration has been revealed. Just twenty-four hours after the new Showdown season was unleashed, Epic Games has revealed our first look at the characters heading to the map from Westeros. Coming to the item shop tonight, new skins for Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, and the Night King will make their Fortnite debut. What’s more, Epic has gone above and beyond to secure the likenesses of Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, and Richard Blake, giving fans the ultimate in-game versions of these Thrones icons.
Jon Snow’s attire is based on his appearance in the final season and comes with two variants. Daenerys Targaryen also comes with two variants featuring her battle attire, as well as a more reserved dress. Finally, the Night King comes in his traditional battle armour. A GAME OF ACCESSORIES
Thankfully, our beloved heroes also come with a treasure trove of cool cosmetics to help craft the ultimate Thrones atmosphere. Daenerys Targaryen boasts a Mother of Dragons emote, as well as her customary weapon and Dragon Egg Back Bling. Rounding out her set is a superb-looking Dragon glider. The Night King comes with a frost-tipped Falx Spear and themed Back Bling. Finally, Jon Snow comes with a “Claim the Throne” emote that plays the icon theme, his Longclaw blade Pickaxe, and the House Stark Shield Back Bling. Last but not least, the set comes with two emoticons: One dedicated to House Stark and one for the Night King.
A SONG OF FIRE AND ICE
These new skins look fantastic, and the news gets better. Fortnite has confirmed that these characters will be making their debut in the item shop TONIGHT, so players can look forward to unleashing their quest for the Iron Throne on the map from the off. Thankfully, the new map has delivered the perfect POI to play-test the new Game of Thrones collaboration. The Ice King’s Frigid Fortress is a snow-covered castle isolated in a sea of snow, and this new POI is the ultimate destination for fans to land.
Hopefully, with the franchise license now secured, fans will be hoping to see more characters from the series make the transition to the map. After all, there is a treasure trove of characters available to bring to the map, so let’s hope this bundle is the first of many.
RELEASE
As mentioned at the top of the post, Fortnite has confirmed that the Game of Thrones skins will be making their debut in the item shop TONIGHT, so players can look forward to unleashing their quest for the Iron Throne on the map in time for the first weekend of the season. Fortnite Showdown promises to be a landmark season for players, especially with the inclusion of Bugs Bunny.
But with new skins for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Foundation and the Ice King, the new season promises to be a throwback to classic Battle Passes of the past. So there’s plenty to enjoy on the map just now, and with Fortnite now available on Google Play, there has never been a better time to enjoy the game with your friends. Just brace yourself for the V-Bucks changes. I’ll see you out there!
