The highlights on Sky and NOW in April include the premieres of Prisoner, The Miniature Wife and The Bad Guys 2! Get the details here.
Welcome to April on Sky and NOW. But don’t get too comfortable. You’re going to need to strap yourselves in for this one. Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated writer Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) comes a white-knuckle chase from safe house to courthouse. Sky Original thriller Prisoner arrives soon.
And in a curious new series, Elizabeth Banks is shrunk down to the size of a doll by her scientist husband, Matthew McFadyen. Can their marriage survive the new(ish) power dynamic? Find out when The Miniature Wife comes exclusively to Sky. And Rue and friends may be out of high school, but they’re still in deep trouble. Season three of Euphoria drops this April.
Meanwhile, over on Sky Cinema, they’re reformed and have repaid their debt to society. But can they stay on the straight and narrow? The Bad Guys 2 premieres for some brilliant Easter holiday fun.
Prisoner
Does the end justify the means? Prison transport officer Amber (Izuka Hoyle, Big Boys, Boiling Point) is about to find out. Just returning from maternity leave, Amber’s first day back sees her transporting ruthless contract killer Tibor Stone (Tahar Rahim, The Serpent, The Mauritanian) to court. He has to testify in a high-profile case.
When their convoy is attacked by a highly organised unit, Amber handcuffs herself to the prisoner to prevent his escape. However, Tibor is a marked man, and their assailants will stop at nothing to make sure he does not make it to court. Together, they must navigate their clashing morals and survive a deadly alliance. Can this unlikely duo make it to the Old Bailey?

The Miniature Wife
Marriage gets hilariously complicated in The Miniature Wife, when Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect, The Hunger Games) is unexpectedly shrunk in a technological mishap. This is much to the surprise of her husband, played by Matthew Macfadyen (Succession). Domestic life takes a turn for the perfectly mismatched pair. As a result, their day-to-day turns into a razor-sharp battle for power.

Euphoria – Season 3

Making A Maestro follows the Donatella Flick LSO Conducting Competition. In this contest, 20 of the most talented young conductors from across Europe compete for the chance to become the London Symphony Orchestra’s Assistant Conductor. Moreover, the winner is unveiled in the final episode of the series.

Doc – Season 2 (Part 2)
Returning from its winter hiatus, we’re back at Westside Hospital for the second half of Doc season two. With the search underway to find out the truth about Amy’s hacked accounts, she and Sonya butt heads while treating a homeless patient with a crush injury who was dumped in front of Westside Hospital. Jake and TJ help a distraught mother figure out why her daughter is in a coma. Meanwhile, Hannah cares for a charming high school athlete while working with Charlie to cover their tracks by infiltrating the hospital computer system. Unfortunately, those efforts result in major collateral damage.

BEST OF SKY ON DEMAND
TIME WELL SPENT
If the thought of Prisoner is giving you a taste for some drama-filled stories of crime and punishment, Sky Cinema has some classics to keep you on the straight and narrow. Experience the timeless hope of The Shawshank Redemption, the rebellious spirit of Cool Hand Luke, the gritty, homegrown energy of Mean Machine, walk the line between morality and anarchy in the controversial cult classic A Clockwork Orange, or do some time with a smile and a song in the divisive Joker: Folie a Deux. And if none of those makes you want to spend some time inside, then how about working a case or four with Frank Drebin in The Naked Gun boxset?

MINIATURE CLASSICS
As The Miniature Wife proves this April, good things come in small packages… not least of all the library of brilliant miniseries you can find on Sky. These self-contained stories – each containing no more than six episodes – are easy to consume but hard to forget. Take your pick from Amadeus, The Death of Bunny Munro, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Chernobyl, Catherine the Great and more! And with your Ultimate TV subscription, you’ll also have access to everything Netflix, HBO Max and Disney+ have to offer too. So you can throw in The Night of, Beef, Shogun, The Residence, We Own This City, and Say Nothing into your watchlist as well!
