The first look at the second season of the acclaimed series, Las Azules (Women In Blue), from International Emmy Award winner Fernando Rovzar is unveiled.
Apple TV today unveiled the premiere date and a first look at season two of “Las Azules” (“Women in Blue”). It is a Spanish-language crime drama featuring an entirely Latin American cast and crew. The show is led by Ariel Award nominee Bárbara Mori (“Perdidos en La Noche”). The series was created by International Emmy Award-winning showrunner and director Fernando Rovzar (“Monarca”). Additionally, Pablo Aramendi (Tijuana) worked as a creator. “Las Azules” season two will make its global debut with the first episode on Wednesday, August 12th, on Apple TV. Afterward, one episode will follow weekly. This will continue through September 30.
SEASON TWO
“Las Aziules” season two will see María (Mori), now a lieutenant, struggle with her dedication to the rules and her strong desire to uncover the truth. When they discover the body of a student activist, the Azules dive headfirst into the investigation. They face challenges that will test their loyalties and convictions. This investigation reaches back to the student massacre of 1968. Before they can make sense of what they’ve found, they discover the body of a person linked to that brutal chapter of history. As a result, shockwaves go through the department.
Someone is delivering justice straight to the police’s door, and the Azules are the department’s last hope of stopping the killer. María, Valentina (Natalia Téllez), Gabina (Amorita Rasgado), and Ángeles (Ximena Sariñana) fiercely tackle the battles both within the precinct and in their personal lives. As buried truths emerge, they confront a tough reality: in a system riddled with corruption, what price do they pay for standing up for their ideals?
The series stars Mori, Sariñana, Téllez, Rasgado, Miguel Rodarte, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Christian Tappan, Horacio García Rojas, and Bruno Bichir.
