Featuring an A-list cast including Callum Turner, Riley Keough, and Elle Fanning, MUBI unveils the trailer and artwork for Karim Aїnouz’s Rosebush Pruning.
MUBI is the global distributor, streaming service, and production company. It is our pleasure to share the official trailer and artwork of Rosebush Pruning. This is the latest feature from Karim Aїnouz (Motel Destino, Firebrand, Invisible Life). Moreover, it is one of the most audacious, conversation-starting films headed to UK cinemas this year.
Following its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, Rosebush Pruning brings together an A-list cast in a bold, unpredictable portrait of a wealthy family, where privilege, desire, and long-buried secrets collide. The film stars Callum Turner (Masters of the Air, The Boys in the Boat), Riley Keough (Daisy Jones & The Six, Zola), Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers, Rocketman), Lukas Gage (The White Lotus, Euphoria), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In, MotherFatherSon) with Tracy Letts (Lady Bird, Ford vs Ferrari), Elle Fanning (Sentimental Value, A Complete Unknown) and Pamela Anderson (The Last Showgirl, The Naked Gun).
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
The film has received some great critical notices, such as:
“An outrageous pansexual pantomime so out-there that “What the actual f*ck?” doesn’t even begin to cover it.” – Deadline
★★★★ “Ferocious fun… A fabulous feast for the eyes and ears” – Time Out
“A nasty-chic immorality tale… If you’re going to eat the rich, they may as well be delicious” – Variety
THE PREMISE
Underneath the Catalonian sun, a rich white American family lives in hedonistic isolation, seeking love and validation through one another, their designer wardrobes, and pop music. When an outsider infiltrates the family, buried tensions surface, and blood ties are severed.
An outrageous, biting satire on the absurdity of the patriarchal family, starring Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Jamie Bell, Lukas Gage, Elena Anaya, Tracy Letts, Elle Fanning, and Pamela Anderson.
From award-winning director Karim Aïnouz, written by Oscar-nominated writer Efthimis Filippou, Rosebush Pruning is absurd, funny, and in equal measure.
THOUGHTS
The trailer looks superb. It shows us that the film will be decadent, mysterious, never comfortable, and one that we must watch and study hard. With the voiceover featured in the trailer, we get a real sense of unease, getting a feeling that not many of the cast will make it to the end credits alive. Whether that’s true or not, we will have to wait and see.

Rosebush Pruning will be released in the UK and Ireland later this year.
