Surf’s up again! Following a deal with Fremantle, Sky will be making waves in 2027 with an all-new reboot of Baywatch. Grab your costumes and get the details.
In 2027, it will be time to get those red swimming costumes out of mothballs and start your slow-motion running across the beach all over again. Sky is heading to the sun-soaked shores of Southern California with Baywatch, the iconic beachfront action drama. It is coming exclusively to Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK and Ireland in 2027, following a deal with Fremantle. Furthermore, the new Baywatch is a co-production by FOX Entertainment and Fremantle.
The legendary series, which wrapped its original 11‑season run 25 years ago, returns with a brand‑new first season of 12 action‑packed episodes. Sporting the unmistakable red swimsuits, an all‑new cast of lifeguards will patrol the world’s most famous stretch of sand. They will deliver high‑stakes rescues, explosive drama, and plenty of beachside heat.
ABOUT THE SERIES
First hitting screens in 1989, Baywatch became the most-watched show in the world. It aired in over 200 countries, and at its peak, reached more than a billion viewers every week. The unforgettable original series starred heartthrob David Hasselhoff and launched the careers of international superstars from Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra to Jason Momoa and Yasmine Bleeth.
The series reboot will celebrate the franchise’s enduring legacy, while re-energizing it for today’s global audience. Fans can expect all the adrenaline-fuelled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry, and beachside heroics that defined the original. Now there is an entirely new cast, contemporary trappings, new tensions and challenges, and a renewed mission to protect Southern California’s shoreline.
The series stars Stephen Amell in the lead role of Hobie Buchannon, alongside Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Noah Beck as Luke, and Brooks Nader as Selene. In recurring roles, David Chokachi reprises his original role as Cody Madison, while Livvy Dunne portrays Grace. Erika Eleniak will also reprise her original role as Shauni McClain as a guest star.
