Look out, mutants, because Marvel Animation just dropped the first trailer for X-Men ’97 Season 2, revealing the threat posed by Apocalypse!
At long last, Marvel Animation has revealed the first trailer for X-Men ’97 Season 2. After the gripping cliffhanger finale of the last season left us desperate for answers, the new trailer has arrived to thrust us into a battle across time. Many of our heroes have been banished to the past, while others are stuck in the future. However, one threat looms across time, desperate to wipe out the X-Men: Apocalypse.
The eternal super being has launched his attempt to control time by eliminating the X-Men in the 90s, where they are most vulnerable. But with our heroes struggling to overcome the pain of their losses, and Rogue desperate to avenge the loss of Gambit, the X-Men’s inner turmoil threatens to derail any attempt at saving themselves. Thankfully, our heroes have some help from Forge and Bishop to reunite the team and save the day before it’s too late. But don’t take my word for it. WOLVERINE’S BACK!
If the first trailer isn’t enough to have you popping your Adamantium Claws, Marvel also shared the first poster for the second season. The glorious one-sheet features Cal Dodd’s Wolverine popping his claws and gesturing for his opponents to try their luck against him! Get your first look below.
THE CAST
The series will revisit a classic period in X-Men history, with many of the same cast members from its original run! You heard right, the majority of the original cast are returning to reprise their roles. Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Alison Sealy-Smith, Chris Potter, Catherine Disher, Adrian Hough, and Christopher Britton are all back. And many will go on to voice new additions to the X-Men roster.
X-Men ’97 will also welcome several new voices to the cast, including Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett, and AJ LoCascio.

What a phenomenal first trailer. The landmark first season of the hit series was an absolute triumph, uniting fans and critics alike. Some even hailed the series as the best project to emerge from the Marvel Studios umbrella, so the second season has a lot to live up to. But with a gripping storyline featuring Apocalypse’s latest attempt to eliminate the X-Men, and Wolverine ready to take on all comers, the second season is a shoo-in to deliver a rollercoaster ride of Marvel brilliance when the series returns to Disney+ on July 1.
