Life Gets Jurassic in the New Trailer for The End Of Oak Street

Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor battle dinosaurs in the latest trailer for David Robert Mitchell’s The End of Oak Street!

Survive the Summer. Warner Bros has shared a new trailer for the upcoming thriller, The End of Oak Street. The Cloverfield-esque sci-fi thriller starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor is emerging into dinosaur-infested cinemas on August 14 and promises to be anything but a walk in the park. The first trailer preserved the film’s mystery, only hinting at the perils the family will face when they awaken in a forgotten land. But today’s trailer throws caution to the wind and thrusts into a face-off with dinosaur-infested suburban streets.

The film oozes with the tropes and iconography of the retro-Spielberg Amblin sandbox, and with J.J. Abrams behind the project, it has all the hallmarks of an instant classic. But before we set off for a walk in the park, scroll down and hit play on the trailer below.

SYNOPSIS

After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.

RELEASE

Okay, I have a new number one film on my summer watchlist. Anyone who knows me will tell you about my love of classic monster movies, and The End of Oak Street oozes that classic vibe. The film practically screams Jurassic Park meets Cloverfield, and if the filmmakers can stick the landing, we could be lining up for a very special summer blockbuster. The film is directed by David Robert Mitchell and produced by J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, David Robert Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper. The executive producers are Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee and Leeann Stonebreaker.

If the production team isn’t enough to have you booking your tickets for this walk in the park, longtime Abrams collaborator Michael Giacchino is attached to compose the film’s score. So this sci-fi romp has all the makings of a truly epic spectacle, and I will be first in line to see it.
