Fortnite’s DC ‘Hot Bat Summer’ Collaboration Has Officially Been Revealed

Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Ace the Bat-Hound headline Fortnite’s new DC ‘Hot Bat Summer’ collaboration with all-new summer-themed cosmetics.

Pack your sunscreen, DC fans, because Fortnite is heading to the beach for its latest superhero crossover! We knew another Fortnite x DC collaboration was on the horizon, but Epic Games kept the details locked tighter than the Batcave. Now, the wait is finally over, and the developer has officially unveiled what’s in store.

Dubbed ‘Hot Bat Summer,’ the new collaboration gives some of Gotham’s biggest icons a sunny seasonal makeover. Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and even Ace the Bat-Hound are swapping their crime-fighting gear for beach-ready looks in a collection of playful summer-themed cosmetics. Alongside a new bat-themed beach buggy Batmobile, these DC heroes and villains are ready to take over Gotham’s beaches and bring the sand to Battle Royale. Take a look at the Key Art below.

HEROES AND VILLAINS

So, Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy are all sporting brand-new summer looks, while Ace the Bat-Hound joins the fun as DC’s second companion in Fortnite, following Krypto’s arrival.

The crossover doesn’t stop with new Outfits, either. Players can also look forward to a treasure trove of Bat-themed Sprites arriving on the Island, adding even more Gotham flair to every match. And stealing the spotlight is a brand-new beach-ready Batmobile, redesigned for sunny skies rather than dark alleyways. It’s a fun twist on one of DC’s most iconic vehicles, proving that even the Caped Crusader knows how to enjoy a summer getaway. There are other new quest rewards too: G’Nort’s Summer Tote Back Bling, the Caped Cooler-sader Pickaxe, Zap-brella Glider, and more. And if that isn’t enough, the Batcave has been added to the map as an awesome POI.

HOLY SUMMER, BATMAN!

As fun as these new cosmetics look, the collaboration has sparked plenty of debate among fans—and I can see why. Gotham’s heroes and villains are synonymous with dark rooftops, rain-soaked streets, and moonlit alleyways, so seeing Batman and company soaking up the sun on Fortnite’s beaches is certainly… unexpected.

That said, if Epic Games was determined to give the Dark Knight a summer makeover, there was already a perfect blueprint. The 1966 Batman TV series famously saw Adam West’s Caped Crusader don beachwear for the unforgettable surfing contest against the Joker—a gloriously camp moment that’s become part of Batman history. A skin inspired by that iconic look would have been a fun nod to DC’s past while perfectly fitting the “Hot Bat Summer” theme. Instead, Epic has opted for entirely new designs, which will no doubt delight some players, even if others are left wondering what might have been.

RELEASE

Regardless of where you stand on Batman’s beachwear, ‘Hot Bat Summer’ has officially been given the green light and is set to swoop onto the Island on July 16. Whether you’re eager to cruise around in the beach-ready Batmobile, team up with Ace the Bat-Hound, or simply give your locker a Gotham-inspired summer refresh, there’s plenty to look forward to. One thing’s for sure: Fortnite isn’t afraid to have fun with DC’s iconic heroes and villains.

While this crossover may not be the collaboration everyone expected, it certainly looks set to be one of the game’s most memorable—and perhaps its sunniest—DC events yet.

The Fortnite x DC Long Bat Summer collaboration is available from the item shop until July 30.
