From Amazon MGM Studios and Orion, Bassam Tariq’s Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother delivers a UK trailer and Poster.
Coming to UK cinemas on November 20th is the new film from writer and director Bassam Tariq. His movie, Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, is an action drama featuring a lead performance from Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali. The film also features John Cho, Abubakr Ali, Adia, and Giancarlo Esposito. The film is scheduled to have its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival. Amazon MGM Studios has released the UK trailer, which you can view below.
THE PREMISE
From writer-director Bassam Tariq, the film stars Mahershala Ali as Latif, a devoutly religious hitman who struggles to balance work, faith, and fatherhood.
When his wife dies, he embarks on a desperate journey across Houston to protect his children, confronting the forces closing in around him – and the beliefs threatening to unravel within.
THE TITLE
The film’s title references an Islamic tradition, told in multiple hadith, in which a man approached the Prophet Muhammad and asked some variation of, “Who is most deserving of good treatment?” to which the Prophet replied, “Your mother.” The man repeated the question twice more, both times to which the Prophet repeated “Your mother”. It was only when the man asked the fourth time that the Prophet replied, “Your father” (Credit: Wikipedia)
THE UK PREMIERE
As previously revealed, the UK premiere for the film has been announced as a gala screening at the BFI London Film Festival on 17 October, in the presence of the filmmakers.
In addition, Mahershala Ali will discuss his career in a Screen Talk event also on 17 October.
