WHAT’S HOT ON UK HOME ENTERTAINMENT
This week sees one new entry and two re-entries hit the chart placings. But what are these new and returning titles, and where have they landed on the top ten chart? Set sail as we find out.
(1) MOANA (LIVE-ACTION)
Moana holds on to Number 1 on the Official Film Chart this week, enjoying a second consecutive week at the summit. Disney’s live-action reimagining stars Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana alongside Dwayne Johnson as Maui, as the pair voyage beyond the reef of Motunui on an adventure to restore prosperity to her people.
(2) DISCLOSURE DAY
Making an enormous leap this week is Disclosure Day, which rockets 22 places from No. 24 to a new peak at No. 2. Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi thriller stars Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor as a meteorologist and cybersecurity expert who become caught up in a movement attempting to expose a government cover-up surrounding extraterrestrial life.
(3) THE END OF OAK STREET
Another major arrival at Number 3: The End of Oak Street debuts inside the Top 3. Starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, the sci-fi survival thriller follows the Platt family after a mysterious cosmic event tears their suburban street from the world they know and transports the neighborhood somewhere entirely unfamiliar. As they face dangerous new surroundings, their survival depends on sticking together.
(4) TOY STORY 5
Former Number 1 Toy Story 5 is a non-mover at Number 4.
(5) OBSESSION
Obsession slips two places to Number 5.
(6) SUPERGIRL
Supergirl falls four to Number 6.
(7) MICHAEL
Michael is down two at Number 7.
(8) PRACTICAL MAGIC
Practical Magic also drops two places to Number 8.
(9) MINIONS & MONSTERS
Minions & Monsters slides two to Number 9 this week.
(10) 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE
Finally, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple returns to the Official Film Chart Top 10 at Number 10. Directed by Nia DaCosta, the latest chapter in the post-apocalyptic horror series continues the story of Dr. Kelson, Spike, and Jimmy Crystal as the survivors discover that the infected may no longer be the greatest threat in this brutal new world.
FANCY A SPA WEEKEND ON PVOD?
And that is it for this week’s official film chart. However, if you’re in the mood for a (not) so relaxing break on PVOD, then Spa Weekend may just be for you. The riotous comedy, starring Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Michelle Buteau, and Anna Faris, follows four friends who reconnect for a spa weekend. I found the film quite funny at times, and I enjoyed it. If it sounds like your kind of movie, rent it for £15.99 or buy it early for £19.99.
