THE UL TOP TEN ON HOME ENTERTAINMENT
This week sees two new entries and two re-entries into the chart. We also have a brand new number one title. What could it be? Time to find out and to say You’re Welcome.
(1) MOANA (LIVE ACTION)
Disney’s live-action Moana sails straight in at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart this week, ending Toy Story 5’s three-week reign at the summit. Starring Catherine Lagaʻaia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as demigod Maui, the live-action reimagining follows the adventurous teenager as she answers the Ocean’s call and journeys beyond the reef of her island home. Together, Moana and Maui embark on an epic voyage across the seas to restore prosperity to her people.
(2) SUPERGIRL
Making this week’s biggest climb, Supergirl rockets six places from No. 8 to a new peak at No. 2. Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El, who sets out across the cosmos on a journey of vengeance and justice after tragedy strikes close to home, reluctantly teaming up with an unexpected companion along the way.
(3) OBSESSION
Obsession slips one place to Number 3.
(4) TOY STORY 5
Former chart-topper Toy Story 5 falls to Number 4 following three consecutive weeks at Number 1.
(5) MICHAEL
Michael is also down one place at Number 5.
(6) PRACTICAL MAGIC
There’s more magic in the Top 10 this week as Practical Magic jumps five places to Number 6. The cult 1998 fantasy-romance stars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, two witches who must contend with supernatural powers, complicated love lives, and a centuries-old family curse.
(7) MINIONS & MONSTERS
Minions & Monsters drops four places to Number 7.
(8) BARBARIAN
This week’s second new entry comes from Barbarian, which debuts at Number 8. The horror film follows Tess, who arrives at a rental home only to discover it has already been booked by a stranger. Deciding to stay despite her better judgment, she soon discovers that her unexpected housemate may be the least of her worries.
(9) BATMAN KNIGHTFALL: PART 1
Batman: Knightfall Part 1 – Knightfall climbs three places to Number 9, returning to the Top 10.
(10) THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie falls four places to complete this week’s countdown at Number 10.
WILL YOU SURVIVE THE END OF OAK STREET?
And that’s that for another week. If none of the above take your fancy, may I suggest The End Of Oak Street? The film is now available to rent or buy on PVOD for £15.99 to rent, or £19.99 to buy early. Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor star in a tale of an unusual occurrence that sends the mentioned Oak Street back to prehistoric times. Cue lots of running from dinosaurs and resorting to household objects to stay alive. The PVOD release is rated 15 because the film was cut to get a 12A rating in cinemas. The film restores the edited footage and has more blood and nastier deaths than were seen originally.
Can the dinosaurs escape The End Of Oak Street and take a bite out of Moana to take the top spot next week? You know what to do. So, until next time…
