Welcome to The Official Film Chart.
THE UK TOP TEN TITLES
This week brings five new entries and one re-entry into the chart. We also have a brand new number one title. But which titles are new or returning, and what is the new number one? This is the way as we find out.
(1) STAR WARS-THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU
Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu strikes back at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart, beginning another spell at the summit after previously debuting at the top earlier this year. Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu take their latest adventure to the big screen, joining forces with the fledgling New Republic as they hunt down Imperial warlords still scattered across the galaxy. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film also stars Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward and features Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt.
(2) DISCLOSURE DAY
Last week’s chart-topping Disclosure Day slips to Number 2.
(3) A BETTER TOMORROW TRILOGY
Making a strong debut at Number 3 is A Better Tomorrow Trilogy. The newly restored collection brings together John Woo’s hugely influential A Better Tomorrow and A Better Tomorrow II alongside Tsui Hark’s prequel A Better Tomorrow III: Love & Death in Saigon. Starring Chow Yun-Fat, Ti Lung and Leslie Cheung, the trilogy explores loyalty, brotherhood and betrayal against the backdrop of Hong Kong’s criminal underworld.
(4) AMELIE
Another much-loved classic enters at Number 4, as Amélie makes its Official Film Chart debut after celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s romantic comedy follows shy Parisian waitress Amélie Poulain as she secretly sets about improving the lives of the people around her, while slowly discovering the courage to pursue her own happiness.
(5) SUPERGIRL
Supergirl makes this week’s biggest climb among returning titles, soaring four places to Number 5.
(6) FORBIDDEN PLANET
Sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet arrives at Number 6 following its new 4K restoration. The landmark 1956 film sees a starship crew travel to the distant planet Altair IV to investigate the fate of an earlier expedition, only to encounter scientist Dr. Morbius, his daughter Altaira, the iconic Robby the Robot, and a mysterious unseen force.
(7) COLONY
South Korean horror-thriller Colony lands at Number 7. Directed by Train to Busan filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho, the film follows biotech professor Se-jeong after a rapidly mutating virus is unleashed during a conference in a Seoul high-rise. With authorities sealing the building, she and a group of survivors must fight their way through increasingly dangerous infected as they search for a route to safety.
(8) OBSESSION
Obsession slips one place to Number 8.
(9) SCARY MOVIE
Scary Movie (2026) falls four places to Number 9.
(10) THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN
Completing this week’s Top 10 is another new entry, Hammer classic The Abominable Snowman, at Number 10. Peter Cushing and Forrest Tucker star as a scientist and an entrepreneur who set out into the Himalayas in search of the legendary Yeti, with their competing motivations soon placing the expedition in danger. The fantasy-horror arrives following a new 4K restoration from Hammer Films.
FINISHING OFF
And that’s all there is for this week. Can The Mandalorian And Grogu hold onto the top spot next week, or will something come along and manage to dethrone it? It’s probable, as Spider-Man: Brand New Day has hit PVOD this week. It’s almost certain for Peter Parker’s alter ego to web itself into the top spot next week. So, until next time…
Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!!
