Welcome to The Official Film Chart.

THE OFFICIAL UK TOP TEN

This week, two new entries and three re-entries enter the chart. As we come off the back of Halloween, we expected to see some spooky films appear on the chart. But which new and returning titles made the cut, where did they enter, and did any of them snag the top spot? With great responsability, we take a look.

(1) SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY

Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to weave its magic at the top of the Official Film Chart, securing another week at Number 1 as a string of blockbuster favourites make dramatic returns to the Top 10. The latest adventure from Marvel’s web-slinging superhero proves difficult to dislodge, despite a remarkable surge in popularity for some of the year’s biggest films.

(2) THE END OF OAK STREET

Leading the charge against Spidey’s dominance is The End of Oak Street, which leaps an impressive ten places from Number 12 to a brand-new peak of Number 2. Starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, the science-fiction thriller follows an ordinary suburban family whose world is turned upside down when a mysterious cosmic event transports their neighborhood to an unfamiliar and dangerous environment. Directed by David Robert Mitchell and produced by J.J. Abrams, the film combines family drama with an extraordinary fight for survival.

(3) OBSESSION

Meanwhile, supernatural horror Obsession continues to captivate audiences, climbing to Number 3, as the chilling tale of love, desire, and terrifying consequences maintains its presence among the week’s biggest films.

(4) PRESSURE

The week’s highest new entry comes courtesy of Pressure, debuting at Number 4. Starring Andrew Scott and Brendan Fraser, the historical drama explores the extraordinary events unfolding in the 72 hours before the D-Day landings, as Allied commanders face a decision that could alter the course of the Second World War. Based on David Haig’s acclaimed stage play, the film sees Scott portray British meteorologist James Stagg opposite Fraser’s General Dwight D. Eisenhower, bringing to life the immense responsibility and uncertainty surrounding one of history’s most significant military operations.

(5) PROJECT HAIL MARY

The week’s most spectacular comeback belongs to Project Hail Mary, which rockets an incredible 35 places to Number 5. Starring Ryan Gosling, the science-fiction adventure follows a lone astronaut who awakens aboard a spacecraft with no memory of his identity or mission, only to discover that humanity’s survival rests in his hands. The remarkable resurgence sees the interstellar adventure return to the upper reaches of the chart, delivering one of this week’s standout performances.

(6) PRACTICAL MAGIC 2

Elsewhere, Practical Magic 2 slips three places to Number 6.

(7) MINIONS & MONSTERS

Minions & Monsters takes a seventh-place finish this week.

Center L to R: Dick, Ed, James, Henry, and additional Minions in Illumination’s Minions & Monsters, directed by Pierre Coffin.

(8) PAW PATROL: THE DINO MOVIE

Hot on the Minions’ heels is Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, which takes a bite out of the eighth place.

William Desrosiers as “Rocky”, Mckenna Grace as “Skye”, Lucien Duncan-Reid as “Rubble”, Carter Young as “Marshall”, Rain Janjua as “Chase”, and Henry Bolan as “Ryder” surround Rhubarb in PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie from Paramount Pictures and Spinmaster.

(9) THE FRIGHTENERS

Supernatural comedy-horror The Frighteners makes a fresh appearance at Number 9. Directed by Peter Jackson and starring Michael J. Fox, the 1996 cult favorite follows a man who makes a living communicating with ghosts until a sinister supernatural force threatens his town.

(10) MONSTER HOUSE

Completing the Top 10 is another spooky favorite, Monster House, which makes a monstrous 22-place climb to Number 10. The animated adventure follows three children who discover their mysterious neighbor’s house hides a terrifying secret, proving Halloween favorites still have plenty of life beyond October.

FINISHING OFF

And that is this week’s top ten chart rundown. If none of the top ten movies take your fancy, why not try one of three new releases on PVOD. For the fans of period drama, there’s Sense And Sensibility. For action and drama, try The Dog Stars. Or if you’re in the mood for a good horror movie, I recommend Resident Evil. Any of these three movies will make your day or evening. If you want to grab one, you can rent it for £15.99 or buy it early for £19.99.

Will one of them manage to knock Spider-Man off his perch at the top of the chart next week, or will he reign supreme once more? You know what to do. So, until next time…

Whatever you decide, whatever you buy, stay safe, be kind, look after each other, and happy viewing!!
