Lucasfilm has confirmed that renowned filmmaker Ron Howard, has been appointed as the director of Solo: A Star Wars Story and will replace axed duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, took the drastic step to remove them from the project citing “creative differences” and a clash of personalities that had made their position untenable. The backlash from some quarters of the fan base was profound, but amounted to little more than a difference of opinion and soon faded back into the dark recesses of the internet.
Kathleen Kennedy, has proven she is willing to do whatever it takes to deliver the best movie possible and with the fans best interests at heart, her devotion to the cause has never been in doubt. With this fantastic news, we can now look forward to the project getting back on track, with an incredibly talented and visionary director at the helm charged with delivering the ultimate tribute movie to the character made famous by the landmark performance of the great Harrison Ford.
