The Last Jedi incarnation of the saga’s greatest Jedi Master arrives to fulfil your collection
Hot on the heels of the impressive Kylo Ren, Praetorian Guard and Rey action figures, S.H. Figuarts has released another figure from The Last Jedi collection – Luke Skywalker in his Ahch-To attire. An additional Luke Skywalker figure will be released later in the year, that one will be the Force projection version from the Battle of Crait. The Ahch-To figure is an exclusive so as time passes, the prices will go high, very high on the internet, much like Padmé and Anakin Skywalker who can reach up to $300 nowadays!
If you’re interested in this figure, don’t wait – grab it while you can!
This brand has always done an amazing job with the likeness of the characters but they have reached a whole new level with Luke Skywalker. It literally looks like a mini Hot Toys figure, simply mind-blowing! It totally looks like Mark Hamill. The paint app is perfection, it’s the right color shades.
The outfit is impressive and totally screen accurate. They have tried to recreate the texture of his outfit on the plastic which has paid off in stunning fashion. The paint app is fantastic as well.
The figure has 15 points of articulation. Figuarts even improved the ball joints on the hands for this figure. It’s easier to change the hands with this one than on the Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma action figures!
In regards to the figure itself and I only have positive things to say. However, the huge let down with this figure is the accessories. There are only four interchangeable hands, two changeable heads (hood on and off), the red crystal and his compass (open and closed). That’s not a lot especially for the hands. Typically, Figuarts figures come with at least eight interchangeable hands and sometimes an interchangeable head with an additional fascial expression as well.
Considering the mind-blowing work Figuarts has done in creating these figures, they could have included an additional head with a different expression. We’re talking about an exclusive figure so it should have something to offer more than the other figures but it doesn’t, in fact it has less accessories than the other figures in the range. They could have included his rain poncho, more hands, the antenna with which he fights Rey, or even the backpack he carries around the island. Instead they went for two small accessories that are seen in the movie for less than a second in the background.
Overall, the quality of this figure is on the level of Hot Toys and a fantastic addition to your collection. However, the lack of accessories leaves you feeling a little underwhelmed – and to be honest, I expected more.
