Ray Fisher’s superb Cyborg joins the Justice League MAFEX collection
Cyborg is the latest member from the Justice League to be released by MAFEX and it’s a beauty! I think it’s clear now that MAFEX is the superior manufacturer when it comes to six-inch scale Superheroes. Whether it’s DC or Marvel (just look at the images of their Iron Spider and Black Panther from Infinity War that will be released in 2019, they just beats S.H. Figuarts on every single level). They are top quality figures!
Cyborg comes with some awesome accessories – the Human Mother Box, two interchangeable heads, 8 interchangeable hands and 3 additional arms (two with a cannon and one with a shield). It comes with the usual figure stand as well and a guide to explain how you interchange the arms. The arms are not too difficult to remove and place, you just have to be careful about how the joint is shaped.
MAFEX is the master of the digital face print technology, their work on Cyborg is simply amazing! The normal expression and the angry expression are spot on! In fact, It feels like it has been directly taken from the movie.
Cyborg is most likely their most detailed figure so far. It was an extremely complex figure to produce, there are a lot of cables on the arms and legs articulation but they totally nailed it. It’s a work of art! The cables attached to the knees and elbows can be bent and actually follow the arm when you change the position. It’s something Hasbro should utilise for their Star Wars droid figures. That’s the way you do it! This figure has 26 points of articulation, you can hardly do more than this!
You can’t see it on the pictures but there are parts of this figure that are made of actual metal! It’s not just plastic and you can feel it when you have the figures in your hands, it’s HEAVY! It was a fantastic idea by the design team and it works perfectly.
Cyborg is an impressive figure with a lot of details, it’s practically a work of art!
The MAFEX Justice League collection is almost complete now! Aquaman and Wonder Woman are scheduled to be released at the end of the month, though it wouldn’t be surprising if one of the two is pushed back to November. And we’ll see who from MAFEX or S.H. Figuarts have done a better head sculpt for Wonder Woman. MAFEX’s previous attempts were not exactly amazing for Wonder Woman but they have improved so much since their last attempt they should outperform Figuarts and deliver a truly special action figure.
