Full plans for Season 4 were all planned out when Netflix hit the cancel button…
Hot on the heels of Netflix sending Marvel fans into a meltdown by cancelling the immensely popular series Daredevil, co-executive producer Sam Ernst has confirmed that an entire plan for a spectacular fourth season had already been developed when the axe fell from the bureaucrats in Netflix HQ.
In a series of communications via Twitter, the co-executive producer confirmed how much work had already been done for the proposed fourth season and went on to vent his frustration about the crushing news.
Man, so weird to be in the Daredevil writers room today, getting the news that we're cancelled. On the walls were an entire season 4 laid out – and it was so f***g cool. So many moments we wanted the fans to see… Sigh, this business.

During his conversations, he addressed the idea of the series being picked up by another network or even the new Disney+ streaming service. Sadly, Ernst explained that such decisions are out of his control when it comes to that aspect of the business.
Nah – this is all business stuff that's way above my pay grade. Sorry to not be able work with the great writers on this show. Sorry to not be able to help @erikoleson see his vision through. But TV writers are gypsies, and I'll work with all these folks again. Onward! https://t.co/m3otY9RPex

In a fitting farewell, the official Daredevil Instagram account posted a tear-jerking photo of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) from the season three finale with the trio making plans for a future we may never have the privilege of seeing.
Etched on the Polaroid image are the words “JUSTICE NEVER STOPS.”
Today is a very dark day for the Marvel Universe.
Thank you to the entire team behind Marvel’s Daredevil. The series was mesmerising, visceral and action-packed and the fans adored every single second of it.
