Prepare for a very strange summer. Netflix’s stellar series will return sooner than you think…
Like the majority of the world, I have been captivated by Netflix’s Stranger Things. The dark and twisted events of the first season, together with a catalogue of incredible eighties pop culture references made it MUST SEE television. The second season, while not reaching the dizzying heights of its predecessor was easily better than the majority of other shows vying for broadcast and the thought of a gap year between season two and three was not a thrilling prospect.
But the wait was worth it.
Netflix has unveiled the awesome new poster for season three which will be debuting on the streaming platform on July 4th. The latest season is set during the summer of 1985. Series creators the Duffer Brothers have confirmed the characters will continue the fight against the evil creature known as the Mind Flayer:
“They’ve shut the door on the Mind Flayer, but not only is it still there in the Upside Down, but it also’s very much aware of the kids, and particularly Eleven. It had not encountered her and her powers until that final episode (of season 2). Now, it knows that she’s out there.”
The third season of Netflix’s Stranger Things will see the return of stalwarts Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Dacre Montgomery, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour. They will be joined by new cast members Francesca Reale, Maya Hawke, Jake Busey, and Cary Elwes.
The details of this exciting series were announced via the Stranger Things Twitter account where this stunning new poster arrived to break the news.
This is exciting news, and I, for one cannot wait for more adventures in the upside down. The Ghostbusters references alone were enough to send my inner child into a delirium throughout season two and I am eager to immerse myself in the flashbacks to 1985 when season three hits our screens this summer.
Mark the date in your calendar. Stranger Things 3 arrives on Netflix from July 4th.
