Flooded houses make for the perfect Alligator playground in the terrifying trailer for Crawl
I love a monster movie.
From 7th Voyage of Sinbad to King Kong, Jaws to The Meg and even Deep Rising to The Shallows I love them all, so the idea of a new creature feature from Sam Raimi is an enticing prospect. But this is no ordinary creature feature. This is an alligator horror movie.
Directed by Alexandre Aja and produced by Sam Raimi, Crawl is a monster movie that I am dying (pun intended) to see. The Florida Everglades are enveloped by category five hurricane which sets nature of a collision course with suburbia with horrific consequences. Aside from the original Spider-Man trilogy, Raimi is well known for his passion for a good horror flick and Crawl appears to be ringing every last drop of terror from the source material in order to terrify its audience.
Written by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen Crawl has the following synopsis:
When a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father. Finding him gravely injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by quickly encroaching floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the strengthening storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears.

Check out the cool new poster:
The movie stars Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner, Pirates of the Caribbean) and Barry Pepper. Alexandre Aja has produced the flick alongside Raimi and Craig Flores. Gregory Levasseur, Justin Bursch, and Lauren Selig serve as executive producers.
If wasn’t desperate to see it before, I am now. The notion of being hunted by a primordial predator is a terrifying enough prospect, but when you throw in a hurricane and the overflowing Everglades the terror gets dialled to eleven.
Crawl is set to drag the box office into a death roll on July 12th.
