Annlyel concludes her series focussing on the best moment from every installment in the MCU continuing with the box office juggernaut Avengers Endgame
After seeing Avengers: Endgame three times over the last three days I think I’ve discovered what my favorite moment in the movie is and surprisingly it has nothing to do with the final battle. Don’t get me wrong. Every moment in that AMAZING final epic sequence is worthy of applause, tears, and plenty of deafening cheering, but it’s a smaller moment that fills me with a feeling like I’m a little kid again watching a fantasy epic for the first time.
It’s at the beginning of the film when the heroes get ready to go The Garden to reclaim the stones and fix everything’s that happened. Rocket asks his passengers, “Who here hasn’t been to space?” It’s one of the funniest moments in the movie as Captain America, Black Widow, and War Machine all tentatively raise their hands in response. But the magic isn’t over yet. As they make the jump there’s a beautiful shot of Steve Roger’s eyes slowly widening in awe as the galaxy dwindles into streaks of light which signals hyperspace.
It’s this moment, small yet so significantly magical, that fills me with this indescribable joy that no other moment in the movie can give me. That is, to me, the best moment in Avengers: Endgame.
