Cara Dune teams up with The Mandalorian in these suitably awesome new images from Entertainment Weekly
It’s safe to say that the Star Wars fanbase is suitably excited for The Mandalorian. The recent D23 trailer was more than enough to send us into delirium and fill our imaginations with images of a far darker take on the galaxy far, far away.
Jon Favreau appears to have crafted a stunning new chapter in the Star Wars universe and with the clock ticking down to the launch of Disney+ on November 12th expectations are high. With that in mind, EW has unveiled an exclusive new image from the series which reveals Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian warrior aligning with Gina Carano’s Cara Dune. Dune, a former Shock Trooper turned mercenary finds herself face-to-face with the infamous Mandalorian bounty hunter and mistakenly thinks he’s there to claim a bounty on her. Instead, the duo encounter a threat far worse and unite to face it head-on!

Series creator Jon Favreau has said that he’s hoping to explore the darker side of Star Wars in The Mandalorian. “I’m trying to evoke the aesthetics of not just the original trilogy but the first film. Not just the first film but the first act of the first film,” Favreau explained. “What was it like on Tatooine? What was going on in that cantina? That has fascinated me since I was a child, and I love the idea of the darker, freakier side of Star Wars, the Mad Max aspect of Star Wars.”
Starring Pedro Pascal as the titular bounty hunter, The Mandalorian also stars Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Carl Weathers, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Taika Waititi, Ming-Na Wen, and Werner Herzog.
The first episode of The Mandalorian will premiere when Disney+ launches on November 12th 2019.
