His Epic Tale Begins … the origins of Scooby-Doo and Mystery Inc are about to be revealed
It may be hard to believe but the character of Scooby-Doo has been gracing our screens for the better part of fifty years. The adventures of Mystery Inc first began way back in 1969 and have gone on to become household favourites with adults and children alike. But, until now, the origins of our heroic ghost hunters have remained a mystery…
However, next May we’ll finally get to see how the gang came together in SCOOB! an all-new animated movie from Warner Bros. Animation. Today, Warner Bros. has unveiled the first teaser trailer for the movie which reveals the adorable Great Dane as a puppy and encountering Shaggy for the very first time!
Here’s the official synopsis:
“SCOOB!” reveals how lifelong friends Scobby and Shaggy first met and how they joined with young detectives Fred, Velma, Daphne to form the famous Mystery Inc. Now with hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scobby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global “dogpocalypse” the gang discovers that Scobby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined.
Scoob! stars Zac Efron as Fred Jones, Gina Rodriguez as Velma Dinkley, Amanda Seyfried as Daphne Blake, Will Forte as Shaggy, and Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo, in addition to Tracy Morgan, Ken Jeong, Kiersey Clemons, Mark Wahlberg and Jason Isaacs.
Having grown up with the original Scooby-Doo … way before Scrappy! I cannot wait to get my first look at Scoob! The movie appears to have captured the fun-loving aspects of the original series while boasting an all-new contemporary theme which will resonate with fans young and old. Sign me up for this one. I’ll be yelling Jinkies! in the multiplex before you can say “Scooby Snacks!”.
Scoob! is set for a May 15th, 2020 release. Get your Scooby Snacks ready!
