Thomas heads to Battu to review the exclusive First Order pack from Galaxy’s Edge
To kick off this year’s reviews of Star Wars Black Series, I have chosen the First Order pack from Galaxy’s Edge. It’s an exclusive pack that you can only found in Galaxy’s Edge, either the California one or the Orlando one. There are two other packs like these – one with droids and a Resistance one. The First Order pack includes 2 figures you can’t get elsewhere – a Mountain Trooper and Commander Pyre. This pack also includes Kylo Ren and an MSE Droid.
Commander Pyre
He is a First Order officer from the animated series Star Wars Resistance. It uses the same sculpt as The Rise Of Skywalker First Order Stormtrooper figure except for the helmet, it is the sculpt from The Force Awakens trooper. So in terms of articulation, it has the extra arms articulation that was much needed on these troopers! This figure has 20 points of articulation.
Pyre is a gold and black trooper and Hasbro has totally nailed it with the paint job, I really love the gold paint they used for him, it’s perfect there! As for the accessories, the figure comes with a blaster and a blaster pistol. These are the same sculpt as the previous release of First Order weapons so they are detailed. The blaster though is painted in gold and black just as Pyre and on this weapon the paint apps are really good too!
Mountain Trooper
This is a brand new trooper never seen before. In the description, they mention Batuu so we could speculate that at some point, they’ll show up in Galaxy’s Edge but we don’t really know. Anyway, it definitely has a First Order feel to it and you can see it is inspired by the Imperial Shoretrooper. It’s a great addition to the First Order ranks!
It has some very good paint apps and they added some dirt on him, makes sense considering he is a trooper for the mountains. This figure has 19 points of articulation.
MSE Droid
This is a tiny droid. Paint apps are good, they have given it a dirty paint. It has two pairs of wheels. There’s not much to say about it, it’s a nice inclusion in a pack like this. In terms of sculpting, it’s the same MSE droid as the Imperial ones.
Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren is the one from The Last Jedi, except that he doesn’t come with a helmetless headsculpt. He comes with a cape, his lightsaber and his lightsaber hilt. The lightsabers have nice paint apps and details.
It’s basically a repack, it’s a good figure, the sculpt is there, details too, good paint apps, it’s all black so it’s quite easy. He has 19 points of articulation.

Final Thoughts:
It’s a must-have pack! However, it’s a shame a character like Commander Pyre is the only figure from Star Wars Resistance we have in Black Series and it’s the only way to get him.
