Let those who worship evil’s might, beware the 80th anniversary of the iconic Green Lantern!
According to a new report from DC Comics News, Green Lantern will be celebrating its 80th anniversary with a special 100-page special issue that hits comic book stores on May 21st. The Green Lantern character first appeared as Alan Scott in 1940. He was created by Martin Nodell and first appeared in All-American Comics #16 in July of that year. Since his appearance, the character has gone through several iterations such as Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Simon Baz, Kyle Rayner, and perhaps the most iconic version of the character, Hal Jordan.
The special 80th-anniversary issue will include stories written by some great creators such as Geoff Johns, James Tynion IV, Peter J. Tomasi, Denny O’Neil, and more. Several variant covers with art from legends such as Neal Adams and Jim Lee, among others, will be available.
