Steve Long 
It is a dark day in entertainment history.
Yesterday, Sunday, March 8, Swedish acting legend Max von Sydow passed away at the age of 90.
In addition to playing a role in 2015s Star Wars comeback film The Force Awakens as explorer Lor San Tekka, Sydow starred in many other films over a five-decade period. Some of his most notable films include The Seventh Seal (1957), The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), The Exorcist (1972), Flash Gordon (1980), Conan the Barbarian (1982), Dune (1984), Needful Things (1993), Judge Dredd (1995), among many, many others.
At the time of writing, no official cause of death has been reported.
The cinematic universe has lost one of the greats.
