Holland also confirmed the return of Zendaya as M.J
My spider-sense is tingling … or should that be my Peter tingle?! Whatever!
Last time we saw our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man he had just been framed for the murder of Mysterio and unmasked by J. Jonah Jameson in the climax of Spider-Man: Far From Home. In the months that followed Spidey was forced to endure a spiritual rollercoaster ride off-screen. He lost his place in the MCU, only to be saved at the death after a semi-drunken phone call to Bob Iger from Tom Holland himself, and now the web-slinger is back where he belongs.

Fast forward to today, and we are hearing that production on ‘Spider-Man 3‘ is set to get underway this summer. While promoting his new film ‘Onward‘, Tom Holland spoke with “The Philippine Daily Inquirer” and revealed how happy he is about the third film and when the movie is set to go before the cameras:
“I’m super happy about it. We will be shooting ‘Spider-Man 3’ in July in Atlanta. As for me showing up in other Marvel movies, I’m not sure as to what they want me to do… Zendaya will most definitely be in the film. As to the relationship between Peter and MJ, I’m not too sure what it will be.”

This is awesome news. In hindsight, Spidey had a wonderful year in 2019, minus the Sony/Disney debacle. He was resurrected in the climax of Avengers Endgame and went on to dominate the global box office with an impressive haul of over $1 Billion with ‘Spider-Man Far From Home‘. Just hearing that ‘Spider-Man 3‘ is set to get underway soon with Zendaya set to reprise her role as MJ is a thrilling prospect, and we can all look forward to more adventures alongside our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man very soon!
