The hotly anticipated second season remains on course for its October release date

Rejoice Star Wars fans. We have good news from the force.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across the globe and essentially wiping out an entire year’s worth of entertainment – Jon Favreau, the visionary creator of Star Wars: The Mandalorian has broken his silence on the status of season two – and even went as far to alleviate our concerns over a potential delay in release. Here’s what he had to say:

“We were lucky enough to have finished photography before the lockdown. Thanks to how technology-forward Lucasfilm and ILM are, we have been able to do all of our visual effects and editing and postproduction remotely through systems that had been set up by those companies for us.”

The Mandalorian Season 3 Already in Pre-Production at Disney+

What a relief. With the Coronavirus epidemic overwhelming almost every corner of the globe one can be forgiven for fearing the worst – however, with ILM and Lucasfilm seemingly well ahead of the curve The Mandalorian Season 2 remains locked in for its October release date – and that is welcome news. Moreover, the recent additions of Rosario Dawson, Michael Biehn, Katee Sackhoff, Timothy Olyphant, and Temuera Morrison have REALLY got our blood pumping and season two cannot come quick enough!

Take that COVID-19!
