Grab your gold rings. ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ is back for more adventures!
Well, I guess this was inevitable!
Paramount Pictures has greenlit a sequel to the “runaway” smash hit Sonic The Hedgehog. Before the COVID-19 pandemic practically ruined the world as we used to know it, Sonic was fortunate to have a straight run to the finish line and had a sizeable run at the worldwide box office hauling in over $300 million. With that kind of return, Paramount is eager to build upon its success and have put plans in place that will see our favorite blue nugget speeding back into multiplexes in 2022.
Sadly, the good news was tainted by the sudden announcement that the studio has pulled both A Quiet Place Part II and Top Gun: Maverick from its 2020 release schedule. Sadly, with the COVID-19 pandemic showing no signs of relenting – Paramount has taken the decision to push both blockbusters to 2021. But hey, let’s stay positive here. At least we can all look forward to more adventures with Sonic and his quest for the rings! That can’t be a bad thing, right?
